The Boy in the Striped Pajamas +5
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas has us fall in love with a small boy whose father works facilitating the holocaust. It has a serious tone and through our caring for one small child we learn to really feel the impact of all the other children and adults who were in the concentration camps to be put to death.
When we hear of the holocaust it’s hard to put that many deaths into perspective, the numbers are staggering but cold. When you learn to care about the people, the Nazi boy and his Jewish friend it makes you care about all the others.
Hearing the name of the movie I had thought it to be a children’s’ movie, it is not. But they should see it; everyone should, to get a better feeling for the impact of the death camps on individuals. 5 out of 5 stars.
